PLAY: “The Floor is Lava” ~ Free Play!

Budding Curiosity :: 『新進-しんしん』:: curiosidad en ciernes

Materials:

  1. Having relayed information related to: plate tectonics; dinosaurs; reptiles; primates; evolution; volcanoes; lava; earthquakes; nuclear energy; geothermal energy; wind & solar (see our must-read books posts!)
  2. Paper
  3. Pencils, paint, crayons

How To:

  1. For paint play, of course we have to set aside a designated time & protected space – there is a lot more mess to control as well as clean-up time. Otherwise, just having a clean smooth floor (or table), and the paper, pencils, and crayons easily available has been fantastic. It is reassuring to see what the kids are thinking about, or have taken an interest in.
